Does anyone know what brand/model tire Ford used on 2004 F-150 XLT SuperCab 4x4's equipped w/ P235/75R17 tires? TireRack says it was Hankook Dynapro AT RF08's. Can anyone confirm this? Also, will the speedometer be effected much if I change from the P235/75R17's to a LT255/70R17 size tire?
I do not plan to restore this truck. I had a stated value insurance policy for a hefty sum so I doubt I could afford to buy it back from the insurance company. Almost every part on this truck was new (NOS, Motorcraft, or repo-off the original molds). If the price is right, I may buy it back and...
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I'm sure I'll heal up just fine over time. I do plan to get another dent side, but finding one as original as mine may take a while. It took me 5yrs. to find the one I just totaled and I had it as a DD for 8yrs., so I was sort of attached to her. I...
Just got back from the hospital today, I totaled my truck this past Friday while heading to work. Someone pulled out in front of me and pushed me into an on-coming dump truck. I'm defiantly blessed to still be alive! I escaped with three broken ribs, a broken nose, a broken jaw, broken eye...
I replaced my entire A/C system (evaporator coil, expansion valve, suction and discharge hoses, compressor, clutch, and dryer). If you are changing your coolant but not replacing all your A/C components you will need to first convert all your o-ring to a "R134a" compliant o-ring. These are green...
Mine did this once, I found out the fluid level was low. I filled it up, and a day or two later it started slipping again. I checked the fluid level and once again, it was low. I park on a concrete drive and did not notice any leaks so I could not figure out where the fluid was going? I found...
I do not doubt he spent that much restoring it, but it sure won't bring that much. Assuming it has a 400 engine with modest performance upgrades I would say in perfect condition it may bring $15,000 on a good day. Who knows, maybe it has a Ford GT 5.4L with twin turbos :)
You could get buckets on a Super Cab. Back in the late 60's early 70's (67-72 bumpside truck series), you could get bucket seats in a regular cab from the factory. It seems strange that Ford would have dropped the option for the 73-79 series? I have seen mentions of the bucket seat option in the...
Are these the original bucket seats in this '79 F150? If so, this is not something you see everyday. Also, what do the knobs under the PS A/C registers do? I have seen them before but never quite figured out what their purpose was?
They make a molding removal tool that aids in the removal of the chrome, however, it is not necessary. It would be a good idea to buy new plastic clips due to the brittle nature of the original ones. On the bed molding there is a metal clip about half way that can get damaged if you jerk it. As...
