Windshield wiper problems

First off, even though I keep adjusting my arms up, after running a little while, they seem to to get out of time and start flopping over the weatherstripping below the windshield again, also I only have high on the wipers, not the slow speed at all.Hope someone can help.

Are they slipping on the motor shaft? Like, the motor turns clockwise a set amount, but the wiper blade slips, so when the shaft turn counterclockwise the blade goes farther counter clockwise than it originally did.

clear as mud?

Grab and wiggle the wiper assembly feeling for sloppiness.
If sloppy, replace them Big Job but (The bushings don't last forever)

One speed:Remove and secure (re-attach) the ground strap...check them.

What I've seen, the splined part that the wipers fit on of #3 and #4 in your picture, will come loose from the shaft that turns them. The fix is to replace #3 and #4.
