Where's the air mgmt/diverter valve?

Anyone know how I locate the air management/diverter valve on a 1990 F150 5.8? Truck sometimes has this rattling noise coming from floor board while Im driving and sometimes while idling. Seems to stop if I accelerate quickly. Any ideas what this could be?

Its prob the heat shield on your cat comming loose, go under ur truck and gently hit stuff with your fist till you find what shakes, then reattach, remove, or fix what it is.

What he said, however the diverter vlv on my 90 is directly attached to the air pump.
