What's a '94 tailgate look like ......

what does a '94 F150 tailgate look like with the big emblem plate removed? Is it flat with a few holes to hold the plate on?

Reason I'm asking is my emblem plate is broken and cracked and I'd just like to take it off and put a FORD decal on the tailgate when I go to paint the entire truck. I'm assuming it is flat under the emblem plate. I really like the old style tailgate with the big F O R D letters embossed in the metal, but I don't suppose that would work on a '94? Jim

Yes, It's flat with a bunch of little holes on it. An 06 and newer tailgate emblem looks good on these trucks in the lower right corners.

The 87 to 92 will work on these trucks . I know the 88 I had had big letters.

Yours is flat with 6 holes in middle and 4 outer edges.

The holes are rather big in the middle. The other holes are smaller, you would be better off gettin a panal from a junkyard or offline.

Yes some of the older tailgates came with FORD stamped into the center peice. Went all across it. Like the older 80's trucks.

ahh who knows. wish i could find out everything bout this truck mainly what all has been done to the motor.
