What A SURPRISE

I have the 351 and C6 in the truck, no problem until I tried to put in the drive shaft and it is about 2 inchs too long. I went to the junk yard and nothing worked so I guess I have to have it cut, I wonder why it does not fit.

Are you trying to piece something together, or was this all off the same truck?

I have a 1985 150 XLT stepside with a 300 and t18 four speed, I bought a 1987 f250 with a 351W and a C6 that runs really well .I put the 351W in the 1985 with the C6 and every thing fitted up except for the drive shaft. The T18 had a long tail shaft so I just assumed the drive shaft would fit. I found a 1985 in the junk yard with the short bed but the drive shaft was 7 inchs shorter than mine. maybe the stepside bed is a shaft of its own. I will have it cut to length.

I think another key factor here is 150 vs 250. The housings are different on the rear axle, and that could be where the issue is coming from.
