They call me the Ford Tempo Fan.

But I also have an F-150. I'm been a long-time member over at the Ford Tempo & Mercury Topaz Car Club of North America (don't laugh), but I figured I ought to find a good Ford truck forum too.

I've got myself a few Fords. First, lemme' introduce my F-150.

Bought it for $3,900 last fall and have since put about $4,000 into it. New motor, nice tires, new speakers, and various maintenance items you'd expect to deal with on a 20-year-old truck with 119,xxx miles on the clock. For its age (and location) its in great shape, if I do say so myself.

I've also got a couple Ford Tempos. A Graphite Metallic 1989 AWD Sedan, and an Oxford White 1990 GL. Seen here.

The '89 has about five grand sunk into it. All restoration items, save for a 3in. rear lift. I've had it for four years, and its been good to me. Mostly electrical/suspension issues, but never any drive-train related problems.

The 1990 Tempo is my "project car". Bought for $100, it was said to have a bad transmission from the seller. It also didn't start. In less than a week and for under $50, I had it running and shifting like new.

Welcome aboard man. Good to have you. I had no idea there was enough of a following to yield a Tempo/Topaz club...very unique though. Anyway, glad to have you, kick back relax and post often.

Well, we are few in number, but there's enough of us to keep these old things going. ;) Plus I've got my short bed 150 to get me outta any crummy situations the Tempos may have gotten me into.

Close, here's mine:

Insufficient funds to spring for the big Lebowski 351, but 300 horses isn't too shabby either. I can't even remember what the stock power figures were, but I pretty sure it wasn't 300. Either way, it certainly makes a world of difference in this old rig.

Other than the new power plant I haven't done too much other than small stuff like a K&N intake. I'm still kinda new to the world of Ford trucks, but I've grown up in a family that's had everything from a '53 F-300 to my dad's current truck; a '99 F-150 closing in on 270k miles.

Guess I can't complain too much. ;)

So is your truck rear-drive then? Lemme know how that build goes. I just finished up the swap here about a month ago, so that new Windsor is still fresh. Next on the road ahead is gonna be a trans rebuild or swap. The old E40D is getting a little tired on the upshifts.

Welcome! Nice truck. Wow awd tempo. Should lift it.

I did. 3in. rear lift, stock height up front but with new shocks and springs (Escort GT specs) and beefier sway bars from a second gen Taurus SHO (modified to fit). The rear also has custom control arms (bent to compensate for the higher ride height), as well as new springs/shocks.
