That's the same type of truck in your picture only newer......what we used to call a snub nose. A true cabover has no hood. BTW, that's a cool truck there Brian.

Hmm...then maybe I have never seen a true cabover. That type is all I have seen in the old fords. I need to look for some pics. LOL

Brian, I stand corrected, that is what Ford called a COE. I was wrong. I'm looking for a picture of what I considered a cabover. When I was a kid, everybody I knew called those type of trucks, snub nose. I guess that was just a local nick name.confused

That is what they called the black one (pic above) at the show. A COE.

I saw that on "the other site". It is advertiesed all over too (internet, magazines, evilbay) and had been for a while.

For the money they want, it has to have a different drivetrain (it is the other brand). I would not want it...as is.

Ahh....I am gonna guess early 60s? The trucks got a lot more square in 57, but that looks a little later.

BKW could correct me, but I think they built that exact same cab from '57 through around '90. In '58 and '59 they had four head lights but I think that's about the only changes.

As far as the smaller trucks there were changes. 57-60 (refrigerators), 61-66 (slick 60s), 67-72 (bump sides), 73- around 79 (dent sides).

I get lost after that. I have no clue at all about the bigger ones.

That's a '47 Ford truck, or so was told, and Peterbilt did the resto on it. I love that thing!

Now that it's all cleared up, it is very nice and if I had the room something like that would be very interesting and unique to have.

There's no way on Earth I would use any of those rigs as my tow rig.

I scratch or dent my dually and it's pretty much "no big deal, it just gives it a little character."

I scratch or dent one of those and I'd be sobbing like a little baby until it's fixed. Seriously, I'd be inconsolable. I don't even think I'd be able to work (not that I work much now).

When I get back home I want to swing by McAllister's Body Shop in Webb City. They have a Tow rig very much like that red one, except it's tan. I'll snap a couple pix of it.
