temp gauge f600

hi
please help.....put new engine in my 1978 f600.......runs good now......but couple of issues........the temp gauge read hot .......but radiator was cold,,,,,,put in sending unit form old engine.........now gauge wont work at all....
please help

if both your temp and oil gauges are messed up, it could be something with the entire cluster. in the 90s F-series, if either the voltage or ground is messed up, the whole cluster can be off. all of my gauges are off a little bit and i'm thinking I have 1 common problem instead of 4 (fuel, oil, water, volts).

i'm sure someone that's more of an expert will be able to help you out - hang in there
 
Did you put teflon tape on the threads to prevent the SU from grounding out?
 
Well the threads of the SU cannot be hindered in allowing it to ground out on the metal it attaches to.

You also need to make sure the engine (back of head) has a ground strap to the firewall.
