steering shaft repair 78 f150 ?????

I believe the steering shaft is binding at the rag joint.(feels when I'm steering that theres a flat spot.My steer wheel doesn't turn through smoothly.I was wondering is it possible to soak/lubricate it.To see if it will come out of it.Or is it a lost cause.Just "end the pain" and replace it.Thanks

If your rag joint is bad then replace it ASAP!
If you have tilt steering then it will cost about 10 bucks to fix, if you DON'T have tilt steering its going to cost around 70+ bucks..

That's similar to the Borgeson shaft. Those are nice shafts and really make it easy to take off without having to loosen the steering column.

AFA the topic, I'd get a buddy to turn the steering wheel and try to see exactly what is binding. Very possible it's the rag joint.
