Today I fixed my charging system for my 62 F250. Someone put in a 69 390 FE and when i recently acquired the vehicle, found the alternator wasnt puttin out. Disassembled the Wells Voltage Regulator, (newer remanufactured circuit board regulators), and found a burned out resistor that channels the 12V input to the transistor to ignite the Field, in turn, kicking the alternator to get going. I love that I have a buddy who has a huge surplus of various resistors and I didnt have to go buy a new regulator or alternator to fix my charging system. Sweeeeeet! Now that is what I've done for my Ford today!
