You would be surprised, the 300 has more torque than any 302, and rivals many 351s. It would out pull anything around.

That's easy to say, but my truck had a 300 in it when i got it and it was terrible. couldn't move all the weight of the service body. And it was getting 8mpg!!! the 390 in the truck now gets 14. 14 MPG!!!

put that in your pipe and smoke it genius. the torque rating sounds good, but I'd take a 351 any day over a 300. There really is no replacement for displacement.

Ya could just pull the motor and trans out and all the mounts of the project truck and buy a shortbed and plop em in the shortbed.
