Shock length questions

So i bought a 5.5 inch lift kit from bronco graveyard. Rear is deaver springs. My rear shocks installed only have about 2.5 inches left of travel to extend and about 7.5inch of travel to compress. Does this sound right? It seems like so little travel to extend. These are the shocks that came with the kit.

Doesn't sound like much... I'm not an expert on shocks though. Can you contact bronco graveyard and ask them?

You could cross reference other 5.5" lift kits and see what shocks they have. Most kits will have specs on all the components(shock length, travel)The shocks should have an arrow telling which way they should be installed. Some shocks can be mounted either way, ie. ProComp MX-6 shocks.

Generally you want to measure your maximum distance traveled uncompressed and then the minimum height when compressed and try to get about in the middle of that. If your shock has too little travel distance, you will end up damaging shock mounts or shocks. Definitely would be worth a call to Bronco Graveyard or someone like Summit that deals with the proper parts and how to determine them.
