I have had my 2000 7.3 f250 4x4 since new and never ran it out of fuel until twice last week. First time on the interstate it just ran rough for about 10 seconds and quit. problem is my gauge said I had an 1/8 of a tank still. I have run it down further than where the gauge was sitting. next time was in town and she started to shake, running rough but not stalling. I managed to drive it to a station and get fuel. After getting fuel it was fine. problem is the gauge this time was even higher than 1/8 closer to 1/4. What's going on? Do I have a gauge problem? a fuel pick up problem? anyone else have this problem?
