Restoring gas tanks?

I read an article quite some time back about restoring a gas tank. I didn't need the info then but am wishing now I'd have kept some of it.

Seems to me it was some kind of paint / epoxy that was poured into the tank, swirled around dumped out, left to cure and refitted. Was the paint POR15? Has anyone done this?

Yep POR15 it is a 4 step sealer. great for small minor leaks..for best results follow the directions....

Not to sound like a $$$, but a new tank is like 100 bucks...

Not to sound like a know it all but... the main tank is fine, it's the saddle tanks that I'm wanting to seal. I haven't seen the side tanks like mine in any of the parts books I have.

When we drug it home neither saddle tank had a cap and with them in the wheel-well the saddles were full of water, rust, and dirt. I don't think I have leaks but would like to keep the rust out of the system.
