Alternator just went out 3 hours from home on a Friday night. I found one at a autozone but it's a 110amp and They have a a 140amp but not in stock. How do I tell which one I have.
I had the altinator checked advanced auto said it's good. Droped off the batteries for charging and checking. Any thoughts what it could be does the PCM control the charging circuit or just monitor it?
Here's the rundown.
Replaced one battery (did not have the funds for 2) the amps flickered between 14 & 13 when I was driving. But whent to 14 when idling and the battery light whent off. My thaught is a bad battery.
I'm getting anouther battery and seeing how it goes.
How can I tell if it's a 140amp alt or a 110amp. Wondering if the PO put a 110amp alt in it that's why it didn't keep up with all the accessories.
