Prepping a C6 that has been rebuilt and put on shelf for a while

Hello all
I am wanting to install a C6 that I had rebuilt about 7 yrs ago and has been setting in the garage since then. Can anyone tell me of any needed things to do before I install into my F350 Project? I heard that some parts on the inside can give me trouble. Corrosion, sticking clutch plates, ect...?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd at least pull the pan and make sure there is no visible sign of condensation or rust. Even the smallest amount of water ruins clutch linings. If you can't see any, run it. What's the worst that can happen!

The reason I brought up the climate control was internal rust... Like there is some.. I would flush fluid through the trans to get all condensation out and hope there's no rust..
