Prayers needed desperately...

Roger..if i had words to make you feel better i'd give them. All i know for sure is that if SHE believes she can thrash this it's a huge bonus. i know it added to Nancy's time. her type had an expectancy of about 3 months. she gave us 16. i know it was because She believed.
i will say prayers for her and for your family. i believe that helps also.
don't take no for an answer from the medical community unless it's her choice. chemo and or radiation are bitches. demand any experimental procedures and be an advocate for her. some of Nans Drs tried to cut me out and to this day i wonder if i did all i could.
cancer.gov is a good resource. there are many more on my other computer. i'll post them when i get up again in a few hrs.
stay strong bud, be positive for her even if you know things she doesn't.
again..i'll be praying.

one last thing and it'll sound morbid...hide whatever money you can. the freaks will be after it. i didn't think of it and no one knew to tell me. we'd never dealt with it before.
one last bit of advice...contact hospice. they were a HUGH resource of info and equipment.
i'll think of more when i get up for coffee or if you have any questions ask. i've still got my links on the other computer.

Keep in there swinging man, and tell your lady a positive mental attitude is CRUCIAL to beating this. I've seen it

My father had a tumor on the outside of his right lung the size of my fist. The doctors gave him 1 chance in 3 of surviving.

My old man is a tough old bird. They removed 2/3 of his right lung, two ribs, and drilled a chunk out of his 3rd cervical verterba..........

8 years later he's still cancer free.

Keep in there swinging and keep us posted.

Well, talking to an alternative medicine specialist, he gives her an 80% chance of beating it. Of course, there is that other 20%, but that helps a bit on feeling a little better. No surgery or chemo either, and the cost won't take us to the cleaners too bad, about $400 a month, the main trouble is being able to pay it, but that is much more manageable than traditional medicine...

Please keep us updated. I know that sounds like a lot, but it is worth whatever it costs.

Thanks everyone. Even if you really didn't have much to say, the fact you took the time to say anything means a lot to me.

Sometimes here. Really.
Hi there my friend. My deepest apologies for not being here on the site much, so that I could see this sooner. I'm going back right now, to read all the posts, but I want you to know that after I read your first post, I said a prayer for both you and your wife.

Sigh. This internet thing has turned into just so much pain and misery. I get friends and lose them. I get pissy and lose more friends. I avoid sites to avoid losing more friends. And then I come in and find this.

Again, a deep sadness was felt after reading your first post. My apologies and my God be with you and yours.

Well, a bright spot to this story. The alternative doc is also a medical doc to a point, but uses alternative methods. Anyway, he said the cancer isn't as advanced as the other docs say, so he feels she can be treated with a high chance of success. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Well, got mixed news. The tumor on her lung is gone, but the trouble is, there is a couple small ones developing on her brain stem, so the race for time to get it gone before it does damage is on... they are still about the size of a pea, but it doesn't take much there....We're hoping that since the one went away, that means we have a chance at doing something about these too.

Well at least the other one going away offers a light at the end of the tunnel. Glad to hear about that. Sorry to hear about the brain tumors :( Don't give up the fight; I'm confident that giving up is not on your to-do list. Good luck Roger. My prayers are with you guys.
