That truck is looking better with every picture you post.

When I get to sit at my desktop, I'll recap, but overall am absolutely thrilled at this rig after driving it 1800+ miles!

UNBELIEVABLE! I doubt this thing ran this good brand new. They really built it (mechanically) well and right. There wasn't another rig on the road that could have matched it's power.....that I came across anyways. After driving the F150 across the US, it gave me a good guage to compare and I actually have the build sheet for my engine and have spoken with that shop a few times already.

The hp has to be similar. ...anyways.

When I first saw it in person and when my wife saw it for the first time in person, we both said the same thing: Wow, much better in person!

After spending some time with the PO, I found out more history of the rig, which is super cool along with original manual and sales paperwork when it was bought from a SC dealership brand new in May 1979. I'll share soon.

Thanks everyone for helping me decide and answering questions and giving me the right questions to ask. We feel blessed to have FTF as part of our family. On that note I have to give a shout out to Austin who without his help (more on that later) I wouldn't be home today.

I think we have 2 pretty special rigs that will someday be taken care of by 2 special men!

Nice!...where's the jack?

I noticed that missing....we already have a small list of things to do over time. This will go on the list. The 77 has an ammo box there which I think is awesome but the msd box won't let me put one in the 79 without messing with it, so another jack seems appropriate. Would be cool if I can find an original to clean up myself.

Thanks Randy....wouldn't have been as confident (heck maybe not even have gone through the whole deal without all of your help.

Oh and the 81 route was perfect.....hardly any traffuc and I saw tons of firework displays on Thursday night whule driving.

Great looking truck.
Patients has paid off. Remember all the other trucks you almost went after? The one you ended up with being better than the others.
On your trip home did you notice anything that went on the list to fix?

Rear view mirror fell off!

I noticed the voltage after market guage kept going in and out...probably a loose wire.

The truck ran better than I hoped!

I'll put synthetic oil in it and change all the filters and put all fresh fluids and filters.

AC needs a charge...according to the PO it sat for the lat 2 years.
