Any thoughts? Is it fused?

You got this problem figured out yet Lee? If not here's a bump. By no power, do you mean no movement, or just gutless?

it should be attached to the stator terminal of the alt and not get power unless the engine is running

Hmm I'll have to check for juice with it running. I figured the key being in the run position would be enough.....guess not!

Wait a minute. If a choke is electric, as mine is, isn't it supposed to open to allow the proper fuel/air mix in before the engine is even running? Isn't that purpose?.. so the engine can start in the first place and warm up receiving the right amount of fuel/air? So the key in the on position should be giving it juice at all times, yes?. Am I missing something here?

the purpose of an electric choke is to pull the choke OFF FASTER so fuel isn't wasted during warm up.

It doesn't need to be powered unless the engine is running .
