Hello,
Let me first start this thread off by saying "Hello, My name is Anthony, and I live in Riverside, California." I am 16 and a half, I turn 17 in August. Oh...wait, what I am I doing...? I've been a member here for 4 years since I was 12.

I just bought a '74 F-250 Super-Cab Ranger.
I handed the kid 11 Benjamin Franklin's, and he handed me the key and left. (Did I get a good deal?)
As for the truck, it's mostly original, it has a 390 that was rebuilt a year ago and the classic Automatic C-6. It does have a '76 or '77 Grille. (With Amber Lenses, so I would say '77.)
It runs strong, has headers, a new alternator, a new 700CFM Edlebrock Carburetor.
The warranty tag is missing off of the door.
It has those jump seats which I severely dis-like, and the bench seat is the more common of the two options.
From the VIN I can gather that it is a 390 4-barrel which is a M code (same as my '76 F-350 Super Camper Special Ranger-XLT) it was built in July of '74 at the Kansas city plant.
I have been searching for a '74-'75 Super-Cab since early October. This is the only one that fit my criteria. (I wanted to get around the California Smog Nazis, So a '76-'79 was out of the question)
I kinda wanted a 4x4, but Four Wheel Drive is unneeded in Southern California.
This truck, although two years older than my '76 F-350 Super Camper Special Ranger-XLT, is very different, as the Super-Cab has Air Conditioning and a Automatic, The '76 has neither. When I looked at the truck a week ago, the glove-box opened, now, the glove-box is stuck closed, with all the paperwork such as pink slip and registration in it. I tried the credit card trick, it didn't work. I will get it open tomorrow when it's not raining and cold out.
I think I am going to wash and wax it and take some pictures of it this weekend if the weather is nice.
Now for pictures, please keep in mind all I had was my crappy cell phone.
What do you guys think?

Note: The mix-matched rims, 3 are the same and the passenger front tire is different, although most people on this site have these rims, I have the best of both worlds. The kid I got it from left that LMC catalog on the seat, I haven't gotten around to throwing it away yet, I just got it a few hours ago.

Aren't you aware of the weather reports? It's gonna pour all weekend (it's pouring now), and...the snow level is expected to get down to 1000 ft.

I just spent three days clay baring/waxing my new pile...so I'm was not surprised by the weather reports. :rotz:

Most people have these rims? Most? These wheels are not Gen-U-ine Ford...kiddo, they're aftermarket.

Ford didn't offer styled wheels for F100/150's until 1977 and no F250 had styled wheels until 1990 and these ain't it.

btw: Since you typed a similar post on t'other site, then sent me a P/M, I explained how the stuck closed glove box door can be opened.

It's a piece a cake when you know how...cuz this is a common occurrence on all Ford vehicles from the 1960's thru the 1990's.

btw, part II: Your new Stupor Cab has a Stupor Cooling radiator, which was an option as was the M engine.

IMO, You shoulda paid $1090.00 for this pile, and used the other 10 bucks to get a haircut.

I thought 11 Ben Franklin's was $550.00 not $1100.00

It appears that buying things for a deal, is not your forte.

Did you get a job yet ?

Make yourself available in June as I want to see this in person.

Uh...
I just happen to have 11 Ben Franklins ($100.00 dollar bills) in my wallet, and IMO, $1100.00 was a fair price for this 'ol rolling pile of miseries.

A no rust Supor Cab with a optional 390 w/a optional 4V, optional factory installed Integral A/C and w/an optional Supor Cooling radiator is a bargain price, even here in LA LA Land where these trucks go wanting, as most people restore cars.

People that live in the rust belt are prolly salivating over this pile.

btw: In CA, one has to be...at least 21 not only to purchase a vehicle, but to register it in his/her name.

A newly purchased vehicle cannot be driven until proof of insurance is provided to the seller.

If a seller does sell a vehicle to a person under 21, the sale is null and void from the get go, and the purchaser is entitled to their money back, because...

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Anthony's just kidding (so what else is new?). He also seems to be mathematically challenged.

I woulda quoted this post sooner, but...guess who I just had a 30 minute phone conversation with?

No, I'm not kidding! :rotz:

Just went out and took more pictures of the truck.
My mom ran up to it and wanted me to take a picture of her next to the truck.

(Note the Broken Glove-Box, I just pried it open, there was no other way, I have an extra Glove-Box door from the '76.

(This thing has a dash-pad over the mint condition vinyl dash pad, which is all cracked on most trucks, including the '76.

What's wrong with your camera that you cannot take pics of the left side of the truck?

You seem to have a fetish for posting pics of your mug on websites.

No one cares what you look like, kiddo, but...

Your mug does provide one piece of important info. Now...since people can recognize you...they can run away!

Good way to turn people away from you

I see you still have a need for quality attention.Getting a job and interacting with people will solve a few things.

Anthony, Dennis is gonna be here for two weeks in late June, early July, so it might be time for you to take a vacation to Antarctica, or some other faraway location!

And, I'm gonna assume that Dennis is as caustic and opinionated in person, as he is on the net.

Two more things we have in common...besides our love of old rolling piles of misery...music and food.

And, I also assume that Dennis is as bald as a cue ball....cuz he knows more about these old piles than anyone...with one exception. :)

The switch to the right of the fuel tank switcher is a switch the kid I bought it from put in there that is hooked up to the starter solenoid. You flip the switch, the engine dies, like a kill switch. He also converted it from points to electronic ignition.

I got a pretty good gas can!

The Explorer was offered on Ford truck's from '68-'86, This looks to be a '80s Emblem. It was found under the seat.

Here is the fuel tank switcher on the floor.

Nothing is wrong with it, there was a car parked on the other side of it....
I don't post many pictures of my ugly fat mug, But I agree with this statement:

Among many other things that are wrong with your post(s) (I'll admit many of my posts have problems as well...)
But, you seem to not know the difference between $1,100 and $550.00, which makes me think your either naive and don't know our American presidents, money, or you have no respect or appreciation for the value of money. When you don't work for your money, it has no value.
You sir, are a case and point.

REMOVE THAT GAS CAN FROM THE CAB...PRONTO!

No one in their right mind would carry a gas can inside a vehicle, that's nuts.

One spark from an electrical wire could ignite the fumes. KABOOM!

From the looks of things, all sorts of wires have been added for all those switches and that gypo radio.

The factory wiring wasn't the best to begin with, so today it's prolly frayed, and...I'll betcha there's a rats nest of taped wiring behind/under the dash.

There's no gas in it, dry as a bone.
Didn't ya see the fire extinguisher...? (Lord only knows if it works)

I can't wait to see this...you two are gonna make one hell of a set of bookends walking around Canyon RV Park. I will take pics.

You laying on the hood of that truck is the gayest thing I have seen in quite some time.

Yes, and be thankful your truck doesn't have them. The plastic bits and pieces that are part of the latch mechanism and hinge weren't worth two cents when new, tended to fall apart.

The parts are obsolete. No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Some of these parts are the same as used on 1972/80 Pinto wagons for the pop out quarter windows.

ACH! While the can may have no gas in it, the fumes remain.

Did'ja know (prolly not) that you can drop a lit match in a can a gas, and all that'll do is extinguish it?

It's the fumes that ignite!

You have a lot to learn kiddo...start now by REMOVING that gas can from the cab!
