new here/0-60

Hi I have belonged to this site for a while but never posted, I started out on FTE. I have a 77 f-150 custom 351m I got for $600 and it is my daily driver, as it is the only vehicle I have, other than 2 non-running motorcycles.I've had it for 2 years now and haven't had any problems, these trucks are the best and when I'm driving it I look around at all the other cars and think, "I would rather have this than anything else in sight"( everyone around where I live seems to have a new car). Anyway I was wondering what kind of 0-60 times you guys have been getting in your dentsides? Without flooring it I was able to do it in 7sec. in my truck. My truck is all stock other than an aftermarket chrome air cleaner and a glasspack muffler. Also in case you were wondering it has over 135,000 miles, nothing major has been replaced and once you get it started and warmed up it runs great (bad carburetor). I am planning on upgrading to a 4 barrel and already got the intake.

Glad to see you made it over. I don't own a dentside, but I've always loved them. Great looking truck.

Nice find! $600 for your truck and driving it daily without any problems is GREAT! Welcome to FTF. I've never timed my 0-60, but do know that I can chirp my tires from first to second gear (automatic) if I keep it floored, but I have only done that twice when I first got my near rear diff. and wanted to see what it could do. I don't wanna abuse Burt... :)

Count my 0-60 time? Friday...Saturday...Sunday...0-60 in a weekend

I'm not sure. It's not anything impressive. Motor is old and worn out but it still has some get up and go.

0-60 I really don't know. I have a fairly built 400 that goes pretty good, but I've never checked it.

The 35's are hurting me at the moment but hopefully I'll be spinin' 4.56's in the not so distant future.

Welcome aboard.
0-60? I've never bothered to time it, because it wouldn't take the accuracy of a stopwatch to do it,lol! 60 is not a speed I'm usually shooting for - it's either about 35 or all the way to 75 - those would be the only 2 numbers I'd even need on my speedo! BTW, is there an over-the-counter version of Viagra for engines? My get up and go seems to have got up and went! Oh well, some day I'll address the power issue...
