MGFabricator's 95 F-150 build thread, lots of pics!

It's been a long hard road with this truck, but it's pretty much to the point that I wanted it at. I'll be hard at work on the engine bay the next couple months, doing a semi-built 302, maf conversion, and single gt35r set-up on it. It lacks a little power, and even re-geared I really notice how bad it grunts hooked up to my trailer. But, those pics and progress will come later! I got some new wheels and tires to put on it. 20" incubus wheels, and 35x14.50x20 tires to slap on, as soon as I make it to the shop to have them mounted and balanced, which I kinda need the truck for lol!

It started off as a stock 95 f-150 sport, 5 speed, 4x4 truck. Sat on 31x10.50's that were bald and had crap red interior. I didn't care for all the vinyl stickers running down the side of it, and the billet grille was some yuck cheapo that really showed it's age. So, I got to work. I scored a 79' rolling frame with both axles still on it. Started collecting parts, and finally the end result! So, i'll try and keep my build thread going for those that are interested in what I personally did, and the progress on the turbo build, so hopefully it might answer some questions out there when people tear into theirs!

On to the pics!

The day I bought it......

As you can see, pretty gross. But, it had a solid body, and for some reason, I had to take it home!

After a level, new grille, and 33's

Then, I took it offroad, it made some horrific noise from the front end, and instead of fixing it, I decided to do an axle swap, and after thorough searching, I got a hold of the 79' rolling frame, that had most of the parts I needed. Pulled the donor home, with the beneficiary hahahaha!

Stripped down the dana 44 hi-pinion, ordered a bunch of parts, and got to re-building the axle, and putting it under the truck!

This was before lifting the back, the nasty stone deflector in front, and stock front end

So, I lifted the rear, then started giving it a new face, re-located the power steering cooler up front, and the end result, I created a monster lol!

This is how she sits now, completely leveled, new axle up front, lifted 5" in the suspension, hid's, new face, peeled all the vinyl stickers off, and whatever else hahahaha!

Thanks guys! It's definitely been a knuckle busting, curse words I didn't know I knew, wrench throwing ordeal, but it felt great to finally drive it down the road again! I finally got the new shocks on today, installed the hid's, and took her for a spin. No weird noises, or anything to report yet, but time will tell. With anything like this, the problems are bound to show their face at some point, but i'll address them when they do. I'm thinking I really need to just bite the bullet, and weld the track bar bracket to the frame. I'm just a little iffy on whether or not those 3 bolts are really gonna hold that much force?

But, I do have a couple more pics, after installing the brand spanking new 250/350 shock mounting brackets, shocks, and hid's!

Had to get a night shot, I had a buddy drive it down the street for me. I really wanted to see what the front end looked like coming at me, saw a chance to snap a decent pic, so I did! smilieFordlogo

I forgot to mention the new interior, well, kind of new? I ended up stripping the entire interior out, and sanded the entire dash, and every panel by hand. I don't have any before pics, unfortunately. But I do have a picture of what I did as far as getting the black interior I wanted. I ended up ordering some satin black paint, and adhesion promoter. Painted and sealed the dash and panels, and put some fabric over the dash pad and headliner. I used black fabric on the door panel pads, and some camo John Deere stuff on the head liner and dash. I'm from a small town, and have a bit of a hillbilly side to me, so it went well with me! I ditched the red vinyl floor, and got a black one instead. I'll try to get some more pics of the interior later, been one year since I did it, and it has held up to back to back 100+ degree days, and sub-zero temperatures, and looks as good as the day I did it.

Just for giggles, old school vs new school, my 95' sitting next to the 65'. I actually went to pick up a motor for the 65', but the 65' is running now, and hopefully will be attending the next truck meet with my 95' there also!

Wow, I really like the look of your truck......the tires and the hood stick out to me. I like the look a lot.

Sweet truck. I like it. I had a 94 with the same stripes. They didn`t last that long either. I wouldn`t worry about that track bar bracket since you have it braced.

Thanks guys, it means a lot to me to hear such good comments coming from a group of experienced guys. I got some new pics coming of the truck, as soon as it gets back from the alignment shop, she'll make her maiden voyage into some mud!

primetime, I appreciate the comment on the bracket, I took your advice and left it alone, so far, so good!

Well, after a long drawn out process, I found out I no longer have to debate whether or not to sell this truck. Long story short, my step brother took off in one of our cars while I was at work, and crashed up the whole neighborhood. Luckily, the insurance company worked with us and got us out of a pretty big mess.

Yesterday was the 4-wheel jamboree here in Indiana, and I shined her all up and cruised up there. The looks and questions I got were fun, I can say though, I had the only 80-97 Ford truck there that was regular cab/short bed, and the only one that had a solid swap. So, I thought that was pretty neat. I got a new daily too, since my other mustang got wrecked, I took the money and bought a new one! Here's some pics!!!!!!!

This was all shined up, getting ready to roll out!
