I got into grad school

I've known since Tuesday of last week but decided to wait to make an announcement until I was sure what my decision was going to be but...

I'M GOING TO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!!

I have been accepted to my #1 choice for a MA in Learning and Instruction w/ a credential in Mild/Moderate Special Ed Specialist. I couldn't be happier about this news and I will start teaching in August. I didn't expect to be accepted as the cohort is only 17-25 people so apparently they liked my application packet and interview. :cooldude:

Congrats Trista! I know we're studying completely different things, but Grad School is a whole different monster from the Bachelor's degree. It's more application, and dare I say... easier. You'll probably enjoy it a lot more.

Congrats!

Congrats...that's great news. And by USF assume that's san fran and not s. fla?

University of San Francisco is a private Jesuit college. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I'm super excited. But masters caps and gowns are horrid looking so that's a bummer.

How long is your program? Are you going for the Master's Degree or PhD?

You don't have to walk for the grad ceremony... Or you can just add 'flair'.

It's a two year program for the masters plus credential. I will be going to campus m-f starting the beginning of June until Mid August then I'll start teaching in a school and go to campus Wednesdays from 4:3-8:30.

The gowns look like puffy shirts w/ the sleeves and stuff... I'll wear it proudly though. It'll be a huge accomplishment. This degree will be rough and very time-consuming... BA was easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I wondered how easy it would or wouldn't be. I know the master's degree in engineering isn't any easier than the Bachelor's. I see friends that are doing the masters with their classes, and have to say at this time, i most certainly am not interested in subjecting myself to that much mental torture....

Congrats- both for the acceptance and your chosen field. I'm sure you know the challenges... and rewards... it offers. Wifey's in her 11th year.

So, these are kinda like Bridesmaid dresses? You gotta wear what you're given and hope to never see it again? LOL
