Not that you pervs...

What fluid goes in the transmission and the power steering?

Is it Mercon and Type F?

It's a '92 5.0 HO with an AOD.

Thanks.

Did some of the older Fords use type F for the power steering? It seems like I remember reading that somewhere.

I'm pretty sure the last time Ford suggested using Type F in trannies was back in the 76. Now I think Merc 5 replaces everything.

I dumped Mercon/Dexron in each, so I guess all is good now.

i believe the general fluid used is Dexron/Mercon III for both transmission fluid and PS fluid. i run it in my M5OD and my PS

Ford now recommends Mercon V including those that used Mercon III like my 97 f150.

Type F in C4/C6 thru 1976, Mercon from then on.

Type F in FMX, FX, MX Cruise-O-Matic's, Ford-O-Matic.

Type F P/S fluid 1953 thru at least 1979. Didn't look any further.
