How to polish diamond plate?

My bed tops and aluminum tool box are all diamond plate

What's the best way to polish this stuff? Should I use a power wheel or do by hand? Is there something better to polish with than Mothers?

Can I clear coat after polishing to keep shine permanently (like we used to do with our Army brass)?

i usually just use buffer wheels for bench buffers and attach them to a high speed drill.. will switch the wheels out using different buffing compounds..

Got Mothers Big Ball and mag polish @ Walmart

Bought large red buffer ball and mag polish. Used elec drill gun with buffing ball mounted. Really worked well on diamond plate and especially well on chrome step rails. Pretty easy. Tip-Keep a good hold of drill gun!
