Well hi to every one its been a couple weeks but i am going to pt ina new stereo in my truck and i was looking at it and i dont know how to get out the stock one any ideas.
just remember when you are pushing in the removal tools be very gentle as to not push too far. they are a pita if the tabs you are trying to release get bent. you will feel a slight pop when they seat properly good luck
Remove dash trim around radio on some years.
Insert radio removal tool. ( you can buy or make one out of a Metal coat hanger bent in to a Ushape.
Pull radio out disconnect wires
These trucks the fitting is super tight. I use the removal to,a nd then i pop the glove box down. and i snake my hands up behind the radio and give it a little nudge.
Yeah, my ex-GF had a '96 T-Bird that had the spring-lock type radio in it. :/
First few times taking it out using the U shaped tools could be a pain.
But then I realized it was more about feel than brute force and if the
springs were pressed in -just right- the sucker would come out of there
easy as anything.
It's been a long time since I messed with it tho and I-am getting CRS. :/
