According to the PO (second owner since conversion), she started life as a 78 long bed 2wd. Frame chopped, D44 under the front. 351(letter), 4spd. T-Case unknown, but "it's the gear driven one". He even threw in a york compressor.

Welds are quality, workmanship on conversion to match. Roughly 6-8" improved height.

Wheeled Tellico's Lower Two & School Bus, then driven home.

just not a huge fan of em. they are pretty good if diddied up a bit but stock is a dog..

It's a tall deck Cleveland...suffering from 70's smog regulations...put the cam gear at zero, intake, carb and headers and they will do just as good as others.

351m`s and 400`s are lugging sob`s. Which has never been a bad thing in my experience. Lets not forget, 351w 2v`s weren`t exactly setting the world on fire back in the early 80`s. That`s a pretty swinging truck.

My 77 F250 with a 351M will lay 15 feet of rubber from both rear tires without any effort. It is still stock. ;)

Crawled under her today to check the T-Case and front & rear ends. Some rust through, but not bad for a wheeling rig.

(sorry for the crappy pics...)

Glad to see you back in a dent. I'd be extremely interested what kinda flex that thing has...looks to have a shackle flip in the rear. I think I'd err on the side of 6" of vertical improvement. Looks like it will be fun beater rig.

As for the 351M...tough to kill em and a matter of a few hundred dollars and you'll be up around the 300hp mark.
