gas tank

hey yall im trying to find out what size (gallon) fuel tank is in my daughters 1978 f100 ford pick-up?also it it possible for the truck to only get 13 miles per gallon?straight 6 300 single barrel carb.if so what can be done to get better milage ?

I'm assuming you only have one tank...and I'm pretty sure it was a 19 gallon tank. As for better mpg's...a bisc tune-up, header, exhaust. Best case scenario, you'll probably only get 16mpg hwy with that truck.

divided by 4 = 19.2 US Gallons or 16.5 Imp Gallons

19 gallons. For better gas mileage do what Ben suggests. However on my 302 I noticed better gas mileage when going back to manifolds from headers, but I think alot of people report better mileage with headers. So get a few opinions on that :)

These trucks don't get much MPGs even with a 6 cyl. As suggested, give the truck a basic tuneup and you might get 1 or 2 MPG more. Driving below 55 will help too.
