Does anybody know the ohm rating of a fuel level sender on an 89 f350 19gallon tank

I'm not sure when Ford swapped systems in which vehicles.

My '91 Bronco has got the "new system" which just happens to be the
"old Chevy system". LOL :) That ones about 16 to 160 ohms.

Does the fuel guage needle go to empty with the key off or sorta float
where it was last like the Chevy trucks used to do? :)

The older Ford system uses the voltage regulator on the back of the
speedometer like the temperature gauge and those senders are 10 to
73 ohms and the newer system (old Chevy;) uses about 16 to 160.

I haven't driven the truck in so long I really don't remember what the needle does when I shut it off

What resistance are you getting off the sending unit now?
Is it still in the tank?

From what it sez in the '91 Ford Service Manual they still hadn't switched
them all over to the new simpler (old-Chevy type) system.

US&S (Union Switch & Signal) had in their instructions to clean contacts
in the their relays and and power switch machines etc, to use one of their
erasers last-thing. You could see where they'd rubbed Pink Pearl's stamp
off most of the way before stamped on their own part number! LOL :)

A steel bristled brush or file was ok to use as long as the iron film was
removed with a Pink Pearl last-thing.

Well I only ask this because its a whole truck rework and I want to find a fuel level gauge that works with my level sender the sender is brand new for a diesel 19 gallon tank
