On a 2000 Mercury Marquis. My dad wants to drill a hole through them and put a zert fitting in so it can be greased. 100k plus miles. Does this sound feaseable to anyone? Or worth the effort? I say pay the $$ and replace them.
I guess my feeling is that if they're sealed joints and have not failed, don't touch 'em...and if they have failed (worn out), a grease fitting ain't gonna solve anything.
Seems like replacement joints for my '97 Ranger (2wd) were less than $50/side...and since I can't see how you'd drill 'em without removing them, it seems like a small cost to just put in the greasable kind. When the originals wear out.
