Driveshaft question

I'm getting a automatic C6 trany out of a 70's van. I was wondering if the driveshaft out of the van will work on my when converting from column to automatic?

Also when did vans go from ignition switch on dash to on the column?

What about a the power steering gearbox and column if equipped?

Driveshaft...as long as it's not too short to start with, your trucks application, you can always have it cut down...it's typically around $50 for that.

Couldn't tell ya on the switch.

The steering swap...I know the pump itself is used quite often, not sure how the gearbox is used...but I know I've seen guys do it.

Id use truck parts to make it easier on yourself im sure usin van parts could be used but itd be more trouble than it worth tryin to convert everything over. As for the power steering get the pump and box off a truck. Looks like yours is 2wd so ya wont have to deal with the power assist garbage.
