Do you have the owners manual or other paperwork that came with your truck?

linky here for the '74 specs. I have the '75 someplace, but did not scan them.. http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a315/Masterbeavis/73-79 Ford Trucks/1974 Truck-Camper loading/

I found this and the owners manual, build sheet, window sticker, warranty book etc in a '74 that was in line to be crushed. I had to chuckle when I was reading thru the manual, I could tell the previous owner had kids, I could see they got left to wait in the truck..... They obviously were bored, there was scribbling in the book.....

I still have my 1977 Ford truck owners manual. The build sheet is still under the seat between the bench seat spring and the cushion, like it was from the factory

Thanks for posting the pics, Mil1ion and masterbeavis. I love reading old literature!

The 460 adds a lot more weight than I thought it would.

Sorry I didn't see your replies earlier.
I was too dumb to know how to make it automatically subscribe. :/

Thanks for posting 'em! :)

360FE with automatic as standard equipment? LOL :)
No wonder there's so many dangged automatics for sale.

This isn't the same as my '75 F150's sheet either. :)
It's Ford, they changed things on a daily basis. ;)

300-I6 and a 3 speed manual was standard equipment on my '75 F150. :)
And they didn't offer a 302 or 4x4 the first year.
(at the time I ordered it in Nov '74 anyway)

I need to find my stuff and scan 'em. :)

I remember mine as being read ink. {shrug}

But anyway, the way I read it "back when"...
Since I've got the heaviest front springs...
That moves the front-line-forward so my pickup has a wider range of where
the camper's (or load's ) center of gravity can be right? Wrong?

I just did this last week after seeing this thread. Thanks to Skan for the good info. I just want to back this up with a personal testimony: Its really easy and it really works. Fast too. I got an email back from Ford the same day, which said they got my request. (automated, I'm sure). But the next day I got another email that gave the details I provided and said I would recieve the build sheet/letter within 4-6 weeks. I think that's a reasonable amount of time to wait for research to be done on a 30 year old truck--and you get it for free!

--and to add to the thread: I have an original owners guide and the full set of original shop manuals. Sometimes they're just fun to read even when you don't have something to fix!
