Coolant gauge

is it ok to put the line for my coolant temp gauge threaded into the rear of the intake manifold? it is a aftermarket weiend 4bbl intake i just want to make sure thats an ideal spot! Your thoughts?!?!smilieFordlogo

If it's in the coolant passage then it is fine, you want to have it before the t-stat so it is measuring the block coolant temperature.

There are no coolant passages in the intake on a 400.

There's a plug in on the drivers side of the water pump, that should be a good spot.
