i was wondering if the AOD-E was the same as the E4od? if it is good. if not will it work in place of the E4od without any mods?

As I said in the other thread I think there different, but take that with a grain of salt. As for changing without modification I'd think that the computer would need to be reprogramed, but again take that with a grain of salt.

ps- Nothing wrong with an A/T that changing it to a manual won't fix.

well luckily i aint gonna have to mess with it. the tranny is fine and so is the rear end aparently they say it feels like a wheel weight was thrown off of a wheel. weird but kinda makes sense.

Different trannies and your computer is, in fact, programmed to a particular tranny so you can't just swap it over. Also if the length of the transmission is different then you'd also need to get your driveshafts lengthened/shortened.

Yes and the e40d is a freaking monster.
And they have alot more parts to them...and there more expensive.
