Aligning Dana 44 U Joints Required?

Riotnrrd

I'm putting my Dana 44 back together, and one of the things I've done is replace the U Joint on the drivers side cause the old one was busted pretty bad. I read on a website recently that one needs to align the U Joints on either side of the differential so they are in line, or else vibration will be a problem.

Is it important to align the U Joints on either axle for a Dana 44? Are there instructions somewhere for doing this on the internets or in the Ford factory manual?

Ya mean line both of the axle shafts up or it will vibrate.
If thats what ya mean then no because theyll just go right back out of line as soon as ya go around a corner and if the hubs aint locked in they wont spin much (if any) anyways.

You're thinking of the driveshaft u joints which do need to be aligned.
