its gota 302 and and auto trans. the other day the plugs fould and werejust as black as they could get,the truck wouldnt even start. the check engine light has never come on till after the plug swap,now it comes on most everytime ya hit the throttle then goes out when rpms flaten out. anyone got any ideas what to look for?

When the pcm sees that the engine is too cold, it will increase fuel in an attempt to warm it up. So, if an engine coolant temp sensor was defective or there was a circuit problem.................
