Never messed with the guts of a rear end.
The 79 i just bought has a cooked rear in it now (bent axle shaft due to overloading, dont ask), but anyways...
The truck now has a 28 spline rear, the replacement he gave me is a 31 spline. I know you cant just swap a 31 spline shaft into a 28 spline pig, but heres my question...
Would it be eaiser to pull the 3rd member, and both shafts and slide into the housing on the truck...or eaiser to roll the whole thing out and roll the other one in?
