I have a 1973 F-250 with a 360C.I. It has a two barrel that needs work, I cannot get this truck to stay running. Will a small (600cfm) 4bbl get better mileage than a 2bbl, if I keep my foot out of it?
On a side note, I put a new fuel pump on it today and reached in to feel the timing chain, and it has alot of play, at least 1/4 inch, Time for a timing chain?
recommendations? It is a stock engine, runs well when it is running, it has as much "tow" time as driving time lately.
I seem to recall that the cam timing specs were changed for these old engines for fuel economy (de-tuned), is this the case?
Thanks, F O T
