Old Ford Guy!
Yesterday I stopped for gas (happens everyday it seems) and as I checked the oil I saw water on the ground. Looking under I saw it was from the front pass. head area. Well the job I was going to in St. Pete was @ 35 miles, so I decided to go home. I called my customer and put off his work till next week, and made it home with the temp only getting @ 230*.
I drive a 1997 F-250HD extended cab with Reading body. I have 315245 miles and have really few problems. I bought it used with 140 k, and I don't believe the heads have ever been off! Good truck, my 3rd with 460's and over 300 k.
The leak appears to be where the front cover fits to the block. I have pulled the water pump, and everything to get to it, just pressure washed it am ready to pull the Harmonic balancer, and them the cover. What should I look for? any help would be appreciated
