2003 Ranger xlt airbag light problem

Looking into buying a 2013 Ford Ranger XLT with 95K miles... excellent condition except for the airbag light stays on. Owner says they mechanic says not a big deal. I'm not convinced of that and was wonder if anyone knows why it stays on and how much it costs to fix it.

If the light flashes then stays on, you can count the flashes for a code. If not, you need it scanned for a code. Could be anything from a bad seat belt to a previously dead battery.
