howdy. My dad is looking at a this truck. It has a 5.8 with about 100,000 on it. We've not had a ford his new and were wonderng about the engine. Is it aluminium heads? is this a strong motor or was it not so great? any info on the engine woul be great. Thanks guys. jdk

They are good engines there are only a couple of issue I can think of off the top of my head. If its a pi or power improvement 5.4 the spark plugs can blow out but it's easily fixed. All fords with coil over plugs end needing coils eventually. Along with coils moister in the coil boots can cause misfires but dielectric grease usually cures that once your dry out the hole and coil. I have seen many 5.4s and 4.6s in the 250k plus mileage range that had no issues and ran perfect.
