1979 Bronco AC

Hey fellas...figured this would be best suited in the general auto section since it's an AC problem. I recently did the R12 to 134a conversion in my '79 Bronco...all new fittings, seals, etc. Everything seems to be working properly, but when I go to charge the system, it doesn't accept the coolant (and yes I'm on the proper port). I attach it to the port, I release the coolant to charge, and all that happens is it gets backed up in the line. The coolant its self is fine because it worked on another vehicle perfectly. So any ideas why my system isn't accepting a charge?????? Thanks in advance.

i get paid to do this
if thet doest do it try jumping the compressor while its running to get it to pull the refrigerant in just find the low pressure sensor and connect the two wires in the pigtail together just enough to get things started
