1966 F100 6 cylinder

When I bought it last month it ran good but only with choke 3/4 closed. Guy
said it needed rebuild. Bought Sorenson 96-333GP for GF3492-4. Not confident in my ability so I paid mechanic to install kit. It still needed
choke closed to run. He told me to install an air filter and the air blend
would permit it to run with choke open....it didn't

What it does now is it starts and runs but stalls and they only way to get it
going is to put gas in carb throat...ok until it stalls again. The line and filter are both ok, in fact when I disconnected the line from the carb inlet
it had so much pressure that it sprayed out but apparently is not getting
into carb. via the inlet but once you prime it and keep RPMs up it runs until
you take foot off gas at stop sign and it stalls and requires prime to start.

Can anyone help me with this? thanks...Don

Sounds like a inlet issue...blockage in needle/seat? When your revving it the pump is making more pressure. Id pull the float and needle and blow some sir through it with a good dose of carb cleaner

I'm looking to install a 5.4 in my 66 with modern tranny. Does anyone have any info on this? Also Lincoln front end and disk on back. Crown Vic what year

At least 2003 or newer crown vic for the front, might look at 89-97 Thunderbird rear suspension IFS swap, haven't actually done either (yet), but there is a company that makes a kit for the T-bird rear.
