I just got a '63 unibody F-100, it's all there but not running. Does anyone know the trick to getting the ignition switch off? It doesn't seem to screw off, there is a spring on the back but I can't find a clip or anything.
Welcome to the forum! I can't answer it for you, but as some of the older truck guys come online later today, they should be able to help. The oldest Ford I've owned was a '66 F100, and the ignition switch had a threaded bezel.
I had a '64 with the same problem. A junkyard dog with no keys. You must use a standard screwdriver as a key, turn the cylinder to bthe left and note the small pin hole in the cylinder face. Use a long nail to fit in and the cxylinder will pull out.
