Transmission fluid is leaking from the dip stick at the transmission. Not sure if there is supposed to be an "O" ring or anything. The dip stick is loose. How can I stop the leak?

I have a 78 f150, 3 speed automatic, with a 302. My problem is when I shift from park to any gear, I get a mean kick, Reverse feels like I dropped 3 inches and Drive up 3 inches. Also while driving, my shift to 2nd and 3rd kick mean. Trying to figure what causes that.Thanks, Justin Hill

I'm interested in upping the performance on my 302 engine of my 1978 f150. Any suggestions or ideas?

I have a 1978 F150 with a 302. I replaced the starter and battery. My problem is when the truck warms up, and I'm going moderate speed (50 mph), the engine sputters, jumps, and then dies. I will take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to get it to turn on. Please help so I don't drop tons of money...
