  1. Swapping intakes on my 400 M, just kidding!!

Do not use the valley pan on an aluminum intake, you must an intake gasket set in order to get the intake to seal to the heads and block.
  2. Short-Term Results Hi-Flow Water Pump

Been running the same water pump in my 79 Bronc for years and been happy with the results. I mainly use my Bronco off road so it sees a lot of slow crawling in the mountains in around southern California. I recommend using a high flow thermostat which does not restrict the water flow through...
  3. Third Time the Charm Carb Replace? Or Something Else?

Manual tranny will not have a neutral start safety switch. As for your no start issue, look at the dizzy gear and see if you sheared the drive gear pin. Your dizzy may have slipped and rotated enough that your timing is off. What adjustments did you make, this may have affected your no start...
  4. Third Time the Charm Carb Replace? Or Something Else?

Electric choke needs to be connected to the alternator (I believe the FIELD connection) and not the coil.
  5. Transmission Dip Stick Leaking

It's recommended to also put a small coating of RTV around the O-Ring before you install the tube into the tranny. Did this on my C-6 3 years ago haven't had a leak yet.

Mil1ion - I have the 351M and I'll take your offer of the illustrations. Fatherdog, I called Summit and the one they have has been discontinued it's made by Standard, I finally found one through NAPA and it was the last one they had.
  7. Fuel Vapor Canister

I have read through this forum and various post concerning emissions and it's been a wealth of information but I still have some questions that I couldn't find answers for concerning emissions crap. Since the previous owner removed everything emissions and trashed it all I've been picking...
  8. Fuel Vapor Canister

Thanks for the offers, I do have a couple of canisters out of the junkyard but not sure how good they are. Since this will be the first time I'm going to get the truck smoged for license in California, I want to have a fighting chance. I will see if the smog shop can do a courtesy inspection...
  9. Fuel Vapor Canister

Need to replace to Fuel Vapor Canister/Charcoal Canister on my 79' Bronco, anyone have an idea of a good part number or alternate part for these things? Every part number I've tried (Standard is CP2001, Motorcraft is CX-1118) has come up as discontinued.
