  1. Smoken 6.0

I thought that seemed excessive myself. As I said in a previous thread, I'm new to diesels, so that's just what someone told me. PLEASE correct me if that's wrong so I can stop wasting fuel!!!!!
  2. Smoken 6.0

So, I put some heet and injector cleaner in the tank and it seemed to slightly help. In the meantime I got it hooked up to a computer, and there were no codes stored. I decided to take care of the warming up problem, since that was the easiest, cheapest thing. I replaced the thermostat...
  3. Smoken 6.0

Oh, I forgot to mention that. No, I've actually burned through several tanks of gas now thinking that might of been the problem. Is there a way to check the injectors without just replacing them all?
  4. Smoken 6.0

So I have a 06 with 100k miles. Never had a problem, until I let it sit for a year. Now that I started driving it again, it smokes like a chimney!!! (Bluish white). Only when I'm pushing about 1/4 throttle, but it will smoke up the whole block!!! It doesn't smoke at all at idle, and seems...
  5. Cat removal?

I apologize for getting everybody all worked up. Obviously I'm not a mechanic and don't know what I'm doing. That's why I'm in a forum looking for advice. If knew any better I wouldn't of been here. Thanks all for your time and opinions
  6. Cat removal?

Well, I finally decided to do my own research and I found that removing it isn't going to help much. Dont tell me anyone answered my question though, because the only thing anyone did is beat around the bush and tell me how illegal it is. I know the laws, and that had nothing to do with my...
  7. Cat removal?

    Yet, another useless thread
  8. Cat removal?

So does it help your mpg, though?
  9. Cat removal?

    Thanks for your input UT
  10. Cat removal?

Yes. You're right....the equipment was designed for a reason. And that reason was to pass emissions, which I don't need to do. I don't believe I need to spend top dollar on a high flow converter when it serves a purpose I don't need. Why not just eliminate it. I want to know if removing the...
  11. Cat removal?

Well, I have no emissions here, so I don't have to worry about that. Also my cat has no sensors, so I don't have to worry about that either. Although, there is a hose on the cat going to the air pump which brings me to my next question.....do I plug that hose, or can I remove that pump all...
  12. Cat removal?

I have a 96 f250 with the 460 (2wd). I'm looking to get more mpg's. Would removing the cat and replacing it with a straight pipe and keeping the rest of the stock exhaust including the muffler benefit me? What about noise? I don't want uncomfortable noise levels inside the cab. The rest of the...
  13. Intermident fuel problem

    It was the regulator
  14. Intermittent fuel problem

Forget it. I figured it out. Bad regulator
  15. Intermittent fuel problem

With the engine running it gets 60psi wether the fuel pressure regulator is hooked up or not. I know it's suppose to be 28-45. What could be the problem? Bad regulator?
  16. Intermittent fuel problem

I have a 96 f250 w/460. Every once in a while It wouldnt start. It starting happening more and more, and now it's about 80% of the time I need starter fluid to get if started. Although once it starts, it runs flawlessly. It has the 2tank system and it doesn't matter what tank it's on. I...
  17. Intermident fuel problem

With the engine off and system primed I get either 0 or 40 intermittently. When running its at 60 wether the regulator is plugged in or not
  18. Intermident fuel problem

Did u read my previous posts?
  19. Intermident fuel problem

    What do u think flaresider?
  20. Intermident fuel problem

So after doing some research, I found that the fuel pressure should bd at 28-45 psi, so I'm guessing a bad fuel pressure regulator? But, would a bad regulator cause intermittent zero pressure? Maybe two separate problems?
  21. Intermident fuel problem

Yeah I tried That and it doesn't work.
  22. Intermident fuel problem

Oh yeah, and when the truck wasn't starting and I was getting a 0 reading on the gauge, I know it was right because after I took it off I pressed in the Schroeder valve and got nothing. Did it again after I got it started and shut her down and did get fuel spray before I put the gauge back on
  23. Intermident fuel problem

Also, the vacuum seems to be fine, cuz when I removed the line from the regulator, the engine started to stutter and u could hear the vacuum line sucking.
  24. Intermident fuel problem

Ok, so I checked the fuel pressure when it wasn't starting. 0. Then I removed the gauge cuz i thought I was doin something wrong. Then I cranked it tillit started and shut it down and retested. Then I was getting 40 by just kicking the fuel pump on. Then I started her and she was at 60. I...
