I see. sounds like a 16" ford rim with no back spacing is what i should look for. i just want to paint a steel rim and put nice lug nuts for now, thats it. And upgrade to some modern tires. I think my 16.5" wide bias ply flat tires may be contributing to some steering float. I had a manual...
I'm finally getting back to this thread! I found a set of 1992 Chevy 4x4 rims. Do you think the center hole would fit on a 66 Ford f250, or would it be too small? Are you saying in you last post that the 4x4 rims of say a '92, stick back inside the wheel well, over the hub too much? (or vice...
As far as I can tell it is a 2100. It is leaking pretty bad at the shaft. It feels a little loose. I'm wondering if it is a good candidate for a rebuild. This is a 1.08 size BTW. Is this correct for a 352 (in Los Angeles btw)
I do have a streetavenger 570 cfm carb sitting on a 302, that was for...
Finally got the 66 F250 delivered to the house!
The carb is leaking and the fuel tank smells like paint thinner. I need to drain that out and replace the rubber fuel lines. Also the Fuel gage doesn't work and trying to understand the tank switching setup. Anyways
Trying to order a Carb rebuild...
This is probably a dumb question. Where does the spare tire go on an F250? Can it be mounted under the back of the bed? I'm looking to buy a 250 but the tire is in the back under a covered wood loft thing under the camper shell.
I didn't get a very good look under the bed. It has a tow hitch.
Is there a particular wheel width to look for? Stock 6.5" seems a tad narrow. And offset, is there a way to tell? I had some American Racing rims once and they were noted on the inside of the rim, but factory or other brands may not be.
These are great answers. I think a lot of people will find this post informative. I did not know about the Chevy center hole issue. I found some 01 Ford Excursion rims, but based on this information, these may NOT be a good match due to the possibility of the 8 lug pattern being a metric...
Thanks for the quick response! OK, Assuming 16" rims, what then might a standard looking tire size be? these say 9.5 x 16.5. hmmm. I wouldn't mind lowering the tire profile a little since this would be for light hauling in the long run.. (I may regret i said that).. Also is there a certain...
What is a good looking Economical alternative to a 66 wheel? This one has aftermarket 16.5, with 9.5x16.5 bias ply tires. Are the later model 8 lug wheels the same pattern or are they metric?
And when might the cutoff year be for a stock ford rim that will fit?
Does anyone know of a resource where I could look up the body width of a 66 ford f250? Also the left to right approximate wheel width. Before I buy a certain f250, I want to see if it is practical getting it through the gate! This one also has the large side mirrors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Hey guys, how wide are these trucks? Assuming mine has the big side mirrors. Also an outer wheel to outer wheel looking at the front would help. I've gotta make sure this will fit between the fence and the driveway runners and rocks, yikes! (afterthought). i've been looking for dimensions online...
Thanks guys. Is there any way to tell a 352 from a 390 on the outside? Or is that a piston measurement with the sparkplug out deal? Looks to be a stock 2 barrel as I recall. We'll see. there are some registration fee issues the seller is trying to work out....
Hi guys,
I'm a newb here.
I have my eye on a 66 F250. The engine looks original. I'm guessing a 352, however I'm morphing over from the early Ranchero world and need to get my sea legs, er, ranch legs on quick. Not sure what the tranny is. not a C4 :-) it has a large pan.I have a 302 I built...
