Thanks Fellro. I haven't changed the thermostat since I bought this truck several months ago so I don't know what degree it is. It's just that when I had the stock gauge panel installed, the temp gauge never went past the half way mark between C and H, so it alarmed me when I put the...
Today I installed the senders and wired the new gauges I put pictures of on the forum the other day. The problem is that the new temp gauge is reading high I think. After letting it idle for a few minutes it was reading 200 degrees. I took it for a run and the temp did not come down. I read...
Thanks! I used Marshall Instruments 60's muscle retro style gauges (http://www.marshallinstruments.com/) like the 60's look but also the speedo is electronic and easy to program and the fuel gauge can be programmed to work with just about any stock fuel sending unit so I don't have to go to the...
I fiddled around with the gauge placement for quite a while, especially when I was trying to fit the tach in as well. I just sat in the truck and looked through the steering wheel and pretended I was driving and looked where my eyes would normally sweep as I looked at the gauges. I'm normally...
Finally had a chance tonight to install the custom gauge panel insert I had made as well as the 5 Marshall Instruments gauges (didn't have room for the tach so I had to leave it out). Still installing the sending units but at least you can see what it looks like.Brad
I bought the T5 that I put in my F100 from Modern Driveline but it wasn't cheap. It's a rebuilt World Class T5 and they machined the shifter so that it comes up in the stock hole in the floor of the truck. It came with the adapter so that it would bolt to my stock bellhousing and it also came...
Hey Cliff - I haven't been on the forum for a while because of work and the fact that I have another project (78 MGB that I'm putting a 5.0L engine and T5 tranny in) going but got caught on the forum today and your truck looks great! You are really moving along. Keep the pics coming!Brad
Welcome to the forum and happy birthday. That's a great first vehicle you have and the fact that you had to work so hard to get it will make you appreciate it all the more. Good on ya!
Piece of cake to wire them. Just need to run a hot wire and a ground to each seat. They have 3 controls and provide 6 way power so they can be adjusted just about any way you want.
I'm not sure which model Cherokee the seats came out of and the guy I bought them from didn't know but I suspect they came out of a Grand Cherokee. I'll see if I can look online and find some pictures of similar seats so I can tell. Also, I haven't forgotten your drawing for the seat brackets...
Looks great! One of the many things I like about having a truck is all the room I have to work under the hood. So many other cars I have had there was zero room to work. Sure makes it nice.Cliff, if I get to Tulsa I'll sure let you know. I used to live in Norman. I worked for OU for about...
Let me know if I can help. If I hadn't put the new carpet in after I did the seats I would be able to get some good pics to show you. Basically I ended up with pieces of bar stock that were 3" to 4" long and had to drill a hole in each end - one hole to bolt to the floor and the other hole to...
Lookin' great Roy! I sure wish we had a decent salvage yard in my neck of the woods. It makes it a bear to try and get used parts. eBay is OK but nothing like going to the salvage yard and finding what you want. Please keep the pictures coming.Brad
Hey Cliff. Haven't had a chance to check to posts for a couple of days so haven't answered. I can't really take a picture of the brackets because they are under the carpet but I can tell you how I made them and it was really simple (otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it). I just went...
Yeah, the Hurst is what it is. I like the old school look and it will work for a while but eventually I will have another shifter fabricated. Actually, I've measure and if the Hurst shifter didn't have the curve in it just above where it mounts to the tranny, that throws it forward, but...
The T5 in my truck was custom made by Modern Driveline and I think he can fabricate a new bracket where the Hurst shifter attaches but I think I am just going to have the Hurst shifter modified (cut and rewelded to make it come farther back) or just have one fabricated from scratch. To my...
That's a clean lookin' truck Roy! I wish my shifter came back as far as yours. I'm going to have to have one fabricated for my T5. I have to really reach in 1, 3, and 5th gears to get to the shifter.
You know, I was in Sparks, NV a few weeks ago and went into the Summit Racing warehouse store there. My boss was with me and she let me go into Summit and she told me to take as much time as I wanted and she sat in the corner with some knitting while I spent an hour and a half drooling over all...
I'll try not to! Ha! I really liked the dash panel from Classic Dash (if it had fit) because it would take the 6 gauges and the whole panel was supposed to bolt in. This panel I am doing now is taking lots of work but it will definitely be worth it in the end I think. Took me a hour or two...
