So the bottom bolt went in one way, with the head facing the engine, or front of the truck, and the top two come in from the rear. Honestly I can hardly get a finger on them.
So in my shoes, Gawd forbid, would you take them off? I don't even know if these things are called headers, the exhaust pipes is what I mean.
I feel like a baby out there under the beast. Just jackin' it up gave me problems.
I'll try an' get a picture of her up here...
Well, truck runs...How on Earth or what on Earth Happen I don not know. I dropped that safety switch, used the volt meter to find the wire to the solenoid, so now I know where to go look if this happens again. Now I want to tune the vehicle up. I need to change the oil, I know that, what...
okay but...before I do, I wanted to tell you that after I took the Paneling off I had to move the truck so I jumped the solenoid and then turned the truck off. After I moved it I went and linked the solenoid back up. Just for laughs I went to start her and she fired right up, and continues...
Have the steering column panels off and the dash panels off and can see what looks like the switch on the bottom of the sterring column, but was told that the switch is on the top of the steering col with automatics.
ALL right Anthony. I'm a little tired too so instead of messing it up tonight I'll get on it with some sleep. Its an automatic just so you know. I was looking in the archives and apparently this isn't anything new with this gen. at least. Makes me nervous looking at all those wires though...
Since I was able to start the truck I moved it to an old buddies garage, so tools I can use now. To take off the cowling I had to take off one of the dash panels. I just don't know how much to take off. But I have a volt meter and my buddy was saying I could turn the key on and find which...
All right hey guys, it did start on 12 oclock and 3 oclock so it looks like I need to look into this neutral safety switch on the tranny? Okay so what do you think next? I have the steering cowling off and am sort of at a loss. Thanks again guys
Hey guys so its not the solenoid, do I take off the steering ....cowling and try and chase it from there? I was able to start it by going between the two larger terminals, neat trick, thanks.
so when I jump the solenoid it closes that gap, thereby sending power to the starter, this I understand, but what do I close that gap with? Whats safe?
Junior, have not done yet what you asked about, jumped the solenoid, heck man, didn't even know what that meant. Got a new solenoid on the way and will install that, it was only ten bucks.
Okay, I got ya junior, Yes, jumped properly, battery taken out, cleaned, charged, retightened, grounded to fender and block, getting lights on dash, getting headlights if I want em'
Okay, depressed the valve and nothin happened. The nubbin' in the center of the valve was pretty deep, did I press it down far enough I wonder.I'm doing laundry in a strange city and am hardly wearing any clothes so I didn't feel all that comfortable hanging out outside for too long.
